I'm very pleased to say that Lily has had normal blood glucose levels & has been off all insulin since 8/27/06. She is still eating only the Feline's Pride raw chicken & Avoderm canned chicken for kittens mix, NO DRY FOOD, & she's thriving. Her weight has stabilized in the 8.5-9lb range, her muscle tone has returned, her coat is silky soft, her eyes are clear & bright, & even her asthma has improved. It's a miracle!
She is also much more active, having taken up her retrieving habits from kittenhood.
It is pure joy & bliss to see her back to her old self again. Yes, the "wickedest witch of west L.A." is alive & very well & living in Marina Del Rey!
Lily is a living testament to Dr Hodgkins "TR" diet, & feeding a cat the obligate carnivore/species specific diet that nature has designed for our feline friends. Along with the help from Shelby at Feline's Pride, who is dedicated to providing the very best food possible for our furpeople. Many thanks to both.

This is the very beautiful Chloe-cat, a sable burmese, rescued from a "house of kitty torture" (aka house with three children under 5yrs) at age 2. She was Lily's "stepmom" & helped me raise her with an iron paw in a mink glove.
She was euthanased after suffering a stroke 3/05 at age 18. Both Lily & I were devastated. Chloe-cat was the very much loved matriarch in our family.

This is Monty, aka the Mont-ster cat, aka the Mont-ster.
British Blue
Passed away 4/05, aged 15 years. 2 weeks after being diagnosed with bilateral chylo-thorax.
He was such a handsome boy, with a coat so plush & thick you grab it with both hands. His weight varied from 16 to 18 lbs, depending on how greedy he was, & when he walked his tummy swayed from side to side. This boy loved his food & his catnip, & loved to lie on pillows & purr.
He was Lily's long-time, live-in boyfriend & she missed him dreadfully. She likes the big macho types, especially when they're as sweet & handsome as the Mont-ster. He is sorely missed.

Passed away 7/28/06 from FIP
She was a tiny (max weight 6lb 1oz), exquisitely beautiful little kashmir soft furball of pure delight.
She gave some of the best head rubs & kitty kisses in town, & when she talked, she sounded like a cell phone ring-tone!
She is very much missed.

This is Lily after she gained 2lbs due to depression at losing her two best friends 3/05 & 4/05.

She was diagnosed with Feline Asthma about that time.
Here she is getting her Aerokat inhaler with Flovent 110mcg.
What a good girl!
She's now down to every other day dosing & her asthma is under control.

2/06 she went into diabetic ketoacidosis after a steroid shot & spent 5 days in ICU with a central line & an insulin drip. She came home on NPH insulin BID. 8/06 she was switched to Lantus insulin & Dr Elizabeth Hodgkins "TR" (no carb/ no dry food) diet, using a Feline's Pride raw chicken & Avoderm canned kitten mix, until she will eat only the raw Feline's Pride. She has now been off all insulin & is doing very well with normal blood glucose levels for 4 days!!

This is Lily's new friend, JANIE, 12 yr old Bengal, recently adopted after she became homeless. She's a sweetheart too, & loves being loved. She's also on the new diet & loves it!
